Paddle Canada Level-2: Touring award

This award is designed to bring together paddling and rescue skills along with touring, navigation and camping to give you the essential edge and confidence for multi-day touring and intermediate boat handling. Be prepared for full days and evening sessions. The June course will use a base car-camp and will not be kayak camping. Participants are responsible for their own meals.    The July course is designed as a full expedition.  Participants will be responsible for sharing in the planning, packing, cooking their own meals on trip and may partner up to share in these tasks. Skills topics include Navigation and Seamanship, Boat Handling and rescue in rough conditions, camp set up and expedition behavior, risk management, weather prediction analysis and data gathering.   Participate as the moment and your confidence allows.  It’s a great learning experience no matter what you choose.
