Surf and Current Clinic

Learn how to dance in your kayak when ‘the floor is moving’.  Bracing will be dramatically improved and rolling will be an asset but not essential.  For those with a sense of adventure who enjoy a workout as well.  We will start off slowly and get accustomed to the surge of the water and work on balance and maneuvering.  The next step will be timing and power as we attempt to take advantage of the power of the waves.  If the conditions are less favourable for surfing, we’ll seek out moving water on a local river and work on similar skills in a different dynamic environment.  Eddy turns, low brace entry and exit, or funky strokes like the deep dipsy doodle will all be fun to try and work on.  The video below demonstrates what to expect from these clinics.
