Paddle Canada Sea Kayak Instructor Level 2

The Paddle Canada Level 2 instructor course is for advanced paddlers with a Level 3 skills certification who are interested in further developing their proficiency by instructing and guiding.  This course prepares candidates to be instructors for Paddle Canada’s Level 2 courses, which include multi-day kayak trips on exposed coastlines with exposure to wind, waves and currents.  Candidates should have high proficiency with Level 3 skills, including rolling and rescues with loaded boats in adverse conditions.  Assessment will include organization and lesson planning, instructor pedagogy, teaching about dealing with risk, hazards and disaster, low impact camping, food and nutrition, navigation and seamanship.  Students should have a thorough grasp on all these skills and an ability to pass these skills on to others in a an engaging and dynamic way.
